March News

We're back eventing and have had a great start to the season!

We did get off to a bit of a false start with Aston abandoning but we were very grateful to Nigel Taylor and his team for putting on a combined training event at the very last minute.  Then enabled Crunchie & Ozzie, to practice their dressage and showjumping under competition conditions and for Georgie to get Kojak out in an eventing environment.

Fast forward a week and proper eventing began at Tweseldown with all 3 horses finishing in the top 10.

Lulu was a little excited in the dressage but jumped a super double clear to finish 8th in a super competitive OI.

Fanta was also a tad excited in the dressage and rolled an unlucky pole, but went on to jump a really good cross-country clear to finish 9th in the OI.

Posy was running HC in the Novice and again jumped a super double clear, albeit a steady one, to produce a score that would have been good enough for 6th.

In between the eventing starts the team headed to Prestige for more showjumping practice, where Georgie put her brave pants on to jump the 1.40m with Lulu and Fanta.  Fanta had a couple of unlucky poles, but Lulu the superstar jumped an incredible double clear round a HUGE track!

Also making the trip to Prestige was Posy who took the win in the 1.10, and Commet who finished 2nd, with Harley just behind them in his first competitive outing of the year.  Posy also went on to finish 2nd in the 1.20m as well.

A bit more jumping at Prestige and Commet stepped up to win the 1.20m by a 3 second margin.  Kojak jumped two quiet double clears in the 1.10 and 1.15m, really showing how their partnership is getting stronger.  Crunchie and Ozzie also jumped double clear in their first Newcomers.

We rounded out the month with a sunny trip to Cirencester where Posy produced a PERSONAL BEST in the dressage for a 26.8, eventually finishing 4th.  Lulu jumped another super double clear inside the time to finish 8th in an OI section full of Badminton bound horses.  Fanta also jumped a speedy double clear to finish 3rd!

What a way to start the season, with all horses inside the top 10 in their first runs
