A great start to Osberton Young Horse Championships with our 6yo’s and 7yo!

We kicked off with WOZNIAK (Ozzie) in the 6yo, producing a super test, a few wobbles with his first test in a long arena and he decided to wave at the judge rather than rein back, but scored - respectable 34.
SLIGO JUST TOUCH (Crunchie) also in the 6yo definitely did his best ever test, faultless throughout so naturally a little disappointed with a score of 32 but overall a great start to his international career.
And KOJAK in the 7yo. He certainly held his own, he’s inexperienced with some of the lateral movements and had a couple of wobbles in his simple changes which were very costly but overall very pleased with him.
Massive thank you to Shauna Carman for having them all sparkly clean.

Next stop XC - all 3 gave me a super ride, Ozzie and Crunchie feeling great stepping up to 2*S, a few wobbles here and there and a bit of time setting up for combination caused us to pick up 1.6 and 2.4 time faults.
Poor Kojak got the worst of the weather so we decided to take it steady given his lack of experience at intermediate and his first 3*S and he’s never run in the rain, wind and mud, but he was a complete pro and had a positive experience, making him looking so exciting for the future!

The final day...

OZZIE jumped a super clear round on the final day. He really is become such a consistent young horse!!
CRUNCHIE picked up a few faults and a couple of time but overall jumped a really good round and I’m so proud of how far he’s come this year.
KOJAK had an unusual pole for him but considering the journey he’s been on from BE100 to intermediate this year, he really is a rather special 7 year old!
